founded 1919, designers and builders of gearboxes, petrol and diesel engines. These engines powered many low production but famed British cars of the 1920s and 1930s. Built transmissions and tank and truck engines up to 12 cylinders and 8-litres, locomotive engines. Tried to build own economy car (Meadows Frisky)
went with Jaguar into British Leyland but disappeared. Factory closed May 1969
