Helmholtz's apparatus for the synthesis of sound, consists with several sets of
- Tuning fork to generate pure tone
- Electromagnet to vibrate tuning fork
- Helmholtz resonator with adjustable shutter operated mechanically by a keyboard, to amplify the sound of tuning fork
