English: The Kekeate La or Heiqiazi Daban is a mountain pass along the G219 highway in southwestern Xinjiang with numerous hairpin turns. The 2nd name is more common in Chinese as it literally means Black Clip Pass or Black Hairpin Pass. Variation of the 2nd name include Heiqia Daban (non-diminutive) and Heika Daban (heteronym pronunciation of the 2nd character). The pass is also referred to as Kirgizjangal Pass by some Western guidebooks due the historical caravan camp of Kirghiz Jangal to the west. Western travelers also sometimes incorrectly referred to it as Xaidulla Pass after the town to the east, but there is another pass with that name.
