Ten original hand-coloured impressions of landscape etchings by Albrecht Altdorfer are known to survive: 1 in Coburg (Veste Coburg), 1 in London (British Museum), and 8 in Vienna (Albertina); these are all thought to have been painted in the artist's studio, perhaps even by Altdorfer himself. An additional, much less sensitively and skilfully painted impression exists in Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum).
