English: Hamilton Chambers was registered by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust as a Category II structure, with registration number 4962. Much of the building interior was demolished, with its façade incorporated into the HSBC Tower complex circa 2002. A subsequent review by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga found that the building no longer met the threshold for inclusion through demolition and unsympathetic incorporation of the remaining façade, and it was removed from the heritage list on 20 February 2020.
