H. Lewis was a painter (active 1900) who painted a portrait of Alderman David Simpson in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. Little is known about him. He is possibly Henry Lewis (1819–1904), a British-born artist who emigrated to the U.S., then Germany, where he died. He painted in Britain, the U.S. and Europe, and appears to have travelled between those countries for much of his life.
