English: H L Green was a 5 and 10 cent variety store at 825-829 Hamilton Street in Allentown. In 1958, the F & W Grand Silver 5 & 10, owned by the H L Green Pension Holding Company was renovated, and the store's name was changed at that time.
The store sold a wide variety of inexpensive household goods and also operated a shoe repair department for many years, continuing the legacy of the Grand Silver 5&10 which had operated in Allentown since 1915.
H L Green was purchased by the adjacent Hess's Department Store in March, 1977 and was closed in June. Hess's, who owned the remainder of the half-block between North Ninth Street and Lumber Street, incorporated the Green store into the Hess's building.Media in category "H. L.
