The mansion is named after the Valfons family that lived there after 1945. The plan of the building is that of seventeenth century mansions "à la française" and uncommon in Nîmes : the central building is flanked by two return wings preceded by a lower entry building. The main gate is topped by a curved cornice and framed by pilasters decorated with a shell motif and a garland of flowers.
