English: Gustavo Selva (born 1926 in Imola, Bologna, Emilia-Romagna - died 2015 in Terni, Umbria) was an Italian journalist and politician. Always associated to the right wing of Democrazia Cristiana, the catholic party which governed from 1948 to 1992, later adhered to Alleanza Nazionale, the right-winged party born from the merging of the former Movimento Sociale Italiano and the conservative wing of the splitted-up Democrazia Cristiana, serving during a lifespan of 15 years as deputy, then senator and eventually member of the European parliament. During his tenure as chief editor of GR 2, the newsservice of the state-owned radio channel Radio 2, he became famous for his fiercely anticommunist letters from the Editor, which made his programme earn the nickname of Radio Belva (a pun on "Selva" which literally means Wild beast radio).
