English: There have been two Sikh temples (Gurdwara) in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the west end. The original temple, the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha 54°58′23″N 1°37′48″W / 54.973069°N 1.629957°W in Tindale Close, was used for over 35 years, before being replaced by the Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji 54°58′21″N 1°37′44″W / 54.972527°N 1.628981°W, 50 metres away in Buckingham Street. Opened in 2013, it was the first purpose built Gurdwara in the north east of England.
