- 1882 Shipyard built for the Vulcan Iron Co. of Hull on land owned by the Corporation at Grovehill
- 1884 Wound up and let to Andrew Cochrane. Founded Cochrane, Hamilton, Cooper & Schofield
- 1901 Cook, Welton & Gemmell – originally based in South Bridge Road in Hull – moved its operations out to Beverley.
- 1962 The business built its last ship in Beverley
- 1963 Went into voluntary liquidation
- 1963.03 Purchased by Charles D. Holmes & Co, changed its name to Beverley Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.
- 1973 Taken over by Drypool Group
- 1975 Into liquidation
- 1976.06 Purchased by Whitby Shipyard
- 1976.12 Operating under the name Phoenix Shipbuilding
- 1977.05 The business went into receivership and closed the yard
- At this point, the site was returned to its ground landlords, then Beverley Borough Council.
