This gravestone was carved by Anthony Welsh of Leeds, who also signed it.

The inscription on this gravestone is difficult to read, because the paint or gilding on the letters has worn away, and the strong figuring of the marble confuses the eye. Therefore, some images in this category have been enhanced in an attempt to clarify the inscription for the use of researchers.

In memory of James Bateson Morris who died July 16th 1879 aged 42 years.
Also of Mary Hannah his wife who died May 3rd 1922 aged 86 years.
