Gabriel Riesser was buried at the Jewish Grindel cemetery in Hamburg. After its demolition in 1937, Riesser's grave was transferred to the Jewish Cemetery Ohlsdorf, department Grindel-Friedhof, in Hamburg-Ohlsdorf.
The monument was planned by German architect Albert Rosengarten and realized by German sculptor Engelbert Peiffer in 1865, further details see:
