English: Bernhard Herrmann was a German sailor, dead accidentely when repainting the vessel's wheelhouse in december 1940 during the WWII when its ship, the German auxiliary cruiser Atlantis, a Commerce raider, made a technical stop in a bay of Kerguelen Archipelago. Its grave is still maintening today by the staff of the French scientific base of Port-aux-Français, funded by the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge, the German War Graves Commission.
Français : Bernhard Herrmann était un marin allemand, mort accidentellement dans une chute en décembre 1940, durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, alors qu'il repeignait la cheminée du navire corsaire allemand Atlantis, qui faisait relâche dans une baie de l'archipel des Kerguelen. Sa tombe est toujours entretenue de nos jours par le personnel de la base scientique française de Port-aux-Français, entretien financé par le Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge, le service allemand en charge des tombes militaires.
