Grave area for German entrepreneur and art collector Henry B. Simms and his family at Hamburg cemetery "Friedhof Ohlsdorf". The sculpture is a replica of Michelangelo's Pietà of St. Peter's Basilica, made in Rome with pontifical permission by F. Tannenbaum in 1910 (first funeral after death of Simms's eldest son in 1915). (Possibly by Felix Tannenbaum, sculptor, restorer and art dealer in Rome).
It is planend to move the sculpture into a Hamburg church, maybe “Mariendom“, to save the marble from further unfavourable weather influances.
