The Grand Prieur de Saint-Gilles, head of the Langue of Provence, is one of the highest dignitaries of the order of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem. He prevails over the Grand Prior of Toulouse, whose great priory was later created to ease the management of the Langue of Provence. It is the last step before the supreme dignity of Grand Master.
