Some areas on Mars have features that look lkie they were created by the actions of glaciers. Some look just like features in glaciers on the Earth. On the Earth these features may be called cirques, moraines, arete, kettles, or eskers. On Mars ice may exist under an insulating cover of debris. When the ice from glaciers melts, it vanishes into the air because under the current atmospheric conditions water ice goes directly from a solid to a gas (process is called sublimation).
