- English: This model is referred to on the back of one of Gloeden's prints as "Peppino il brutto" ("Peppino the ugly"). (In Gloeden's catalogue there was also a "Peppino il bello" ("Peppino the handsome"), i.e. Giuseppe Cristofalo).
He is a very early model, posing for the first experimentations in Taormina in the 1880s. He must therefore have been born in the late 1860s/early 1870s. The envelope for the negative glass plate # 109 (cm 13x18) now at the Fondazione Alinari, Florence, bears "Peppino Capasso" as the name for this model, who is posed together with Giovanni Crupi at the Greek theatre in Taormina.
