English: A giant replica of Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh placed on a steel easel, located in Altona, Manitoba, Canada. This is the first work in the Big Easel Project by artist Cameron Cross, and was installed on 17 October 1998. The second installment was made in Emerald, Australia on 8 November 1999, and the third (Three sunflowers in a vase) in Goodland, Kansas, United States in August 2001.
Each easel is made of steel, weighing about 20,000 kilograms (44,000 lb), and each painting is supported on a canvas of 24 boards of plywood laminated together.
