'Genart' is a group of a number of young female Polish artists from Lower Silesia. The exhibited members are Eva Kowalewska, Anna Maryniak and Izabela Kaliszewska.

The term Genart was chosen by the three core members because of the prevalent use of hair in most of their early paintings. Another common element in the group's paintngs is the use of a number of textured surfaces created with a number of unknown media. Maryniak and Kowalewksa have also made the use of polymer clay to introduce 3-D elements/ bass-releifs into their paintings.

Although the term 'genart' was intially chosen because of the element of hair in numerous paintings, this is not the only requirement for a painting to be categorized as such. The artists use textures and other painted/ drawn elements in order to justify the presence of hair in the composition. Hence avoiding the presence of unjustified dimensional elements in a painting.
