Gandheshwar temple is an ancient Shiva temple on the immediate banks of river Mahanadi. It was frequent by pilgrims who came by boats, disembarked and climbed up for a darshana. The temple has ancient statues of Shiva, Parvati, Nataraja, Vishnu, Durga, Buddha, Jina, Hanuman, Ganga, Yamuna and others. The temple pillars have extensive inscriptions in Sanskrit and a regional script.
