The Game of the Owl (French Jeu de la Chouette, Italian Pela il Chiu, German Eulenspiel) was a popular game of chance using three dice. Each combination of dice faces is connected with an instruction to put or take a certain amount into/from the central pool. The player rolling a combination of three sixes wins the whole pool. The game is documented from the 16th century onwards.
