Deutsch: Franz Ritter (* 13. März 1888, † 2. Juli 1976) war ein Kieler Unternehmer, Stadtrat und Verbandsfunktionär.
Er gründete in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts die Firma Franz Ritter (Großhandel für Isolierung, Hafenstraße 9), die u. a. die Kieler Werften belieferte. Um 1950 das Nachfolgeunternehmen Franz Ritter GmbH & Co KG Technischer Großhandel und Mineralöl (Lager in Werftstraße 242 / Gablenzstraße / Werftbahnstraße), das auch in der Immobilienbranche tätig war (Bau eines Parkhauses am Eisenbahndamm (später Kaistraße) / Holstenbrücke ab 1958).
Franz Ritter war u a. auch Mitgründer und Landesvorsitzenden der Landesverkehrswacht Schleswig-Holstein e. V..
Möglicherweise stammt Franz Ritter aus der Familie des Etatsrats und Professors Dr. Georg Heinrich Ritter (*1786, † 1855, Lehramt für Medizin an der CAU). Um 1857 kaufte die Stadt Kiel das „Gewese“ (Vorstadt Nr. 16) und das Haus Vorstadt 21 von den Erben von Georg Heinrich Ritter „zwecks Anlegung einer Straße von der Vorstadt nach dem Eisenbahndamm (Hafenstraße)“, also dort, wo heute das Geschäftshauses Ritter steht.

Around 1857, the city of Kiel bought the property (Vorstadt No. 16) and the house at Vorstadt 21 from the heirs of Georg Heinrich Ritter "in order to build a road from the suburb to the railway embankment (Eisenbahndamm, Hafenstraße)", i.e. where it is today the business house Ritter stands.
