English: The first fortifications of Montreal date from from the 13th century. They formed three successive walls which rised up to the plateau where were the castle and collegiate church. Dismantled on the orders of Henri IV, it remains no more than some walls of the rampart, isolated towers and two gates.
Español: Las primeras fortificaciones de Montreal, datan del siglo 13. Estaban formadas de tres paredes sucesivas que se amontonaban hasta la meseta donde se encuentraba el castillo y la colegiata. Desmantelado por orden de Enrique IV, no subsiste más que algunas paredes de la muralla, y torres asiladas y dos puertas.
Français : Les premières fortifications de Montréal datent du 13° siècle. Elles formaient trois enceintes successives qui s'étageaient jusqu'au plateau où se trouvaient la Le château et la Collégiale. Démantelées sur ordre d' Henri IV, il n'en subsiste que quelques murs de rempart sans liens avec les tours conservées et deux portes.
