English: The site of a succession of French and British military forts between 1645 and 1775 due to its strategic position overlooking the Saint John River on the western edge of the city’s harbour; today the site is marked by a cairn, and a plaque on a boulder.
Français : Le lieu historique national du Canada Fort-Charnisay - Entre 1645 et 1775, on y construit successivement plusieurs forts en raison de sa position stratégique en surplomb de la rivière Saint-Jean, à la limite ouest du port de la ville. Le lieu est marqué d’une plaque et d’un cairn de la Commission des lieux et monuments historiques du Canada.
