Said to "have been built about 1835 and used as a synagogue from 1842. The front portion to Hardman Street was added in 1852. The architect was a Mr Fairclough. The building was disposed of about July 1856 when the foundation stone of Hope Place Synagogue was laid." In the 1930s used as a Christadelphian Meeting Room and since then numerous bars, a fancy dress shop and currently (2017) a chinese restaurant. It is most notable as the former O'Connor's Tavern, a haunt of The Liverpool Scene, a group of 1960s poets and musicians including Adrian Henri.
