English: All Saints church in East Winch, Norfolk - C15 baptismal font. The octagonal font was given by Sir John Howard of East Winch, or his son Robert, and dates from the 15th century. The original font cover is lost, this modern replacement was designed by church architect Ninian Comper - a near copy of the medieval original, drawn by Henry Lilly in 1637, collection of Duke of Norfolk. (see image in Robinson, John Martin, The Dukes of Norfolk, Oxford, 1982, p.3) Inscribed: In memory of (Rev. E.J. Elvis (?)) vicar of this parish from 1872 who died in the 72nd year of his age April 15th 1912 (?)
