A single Ficus religiosa, commonly known as the pipal or bodhi tree, has been planted in the City Botanic Gardens, Brisbane. Epiphytic specimens can now be found on surrounding palms and lithophytes on nearby road infrastructure suggesting the arrival of the obligate pollinator, Blastophaga quadriceps, in Brisbane.
