Evelina Haverfield was not a nurse. She went to Serbia during WW1 with the Scottish Women’s Hospitals (SWH) in 1915 as a hospital administrator then on a second trip in 1916 as Commissioner of the SWH’s Motor Transport group. She coordinated 18 vehicles: ambulances, lorries, touring cars and 22 drivers.
