Italiano: La Via Traiana venne costruita tra il 109 e il 114 d.C. come alternativa più rapida alla Via Appia tra Benevento e Brindisi. A Egnazia la strada attraversa il centro della città, in parte sul tracciato della precedente via Minucia, del I sec. a.C. Nei pressi delle terme la via Traiana segue una stretta curva per evitare l'area del Foro. Quest'ultima non è stata ancora esplorata e si trova sotto un appezzamento di campagna a est della basilica civile e nord delle terme.
English: The Via Traiana was built between 109 and 114 AD as a faster alternative to the Via Appia between Benevento and Brindisi. In Egnatia the road crosses the city centre, partly on the route of the previous Via Minucia, dating back to the first century BC. Near the baths, the Via Traiana follows a narrow curve to avoid the Forum area. The latter has not yet been explored and is located under a plot of land east of the civil basilica and north of the baths.
