English: Edward Michael Creedy: Constable Edward Creedy was born at Grandchester in the Laidley Valley in 1881. Between 1901 and 1902 he served as a member of the Imperial Bushmen during the Boer war before joining the Queensland police on December 13, 1902. Creedy served at  eight police stations and travelled as far afield as Thargomindah. In 1906, while serving in Charleville, he met and married Ethel Nethercote, the daughter of Inspector Nethercote. They had two sons James and John. Acting Sergeant Creedy was transferred to the Newmarket Police Station in March 1921 and remained at this station until his retirement as a Sergeant in November 1940, just shy of his 60th birthday.
