English: Formally the "Andrew Dickson White Memorial Gate." Located next to Cornell's oldest building, Cascadilla, it was originally constructed in 1896 to be the southern entrance to campus. After construction of the College Ave bridge, Eddy Gate now welcomes visitors to the Cascadilla Hall parking lot. The alternating layers of reddish Berea limestone and white Ohio sandstone are meant to evoke the school's red and white colors.
