The walls surrounded much of the old town. They have been extended, demolished, restored repeatedly. There is a clock on one of the eastern towers (on a site I found this is part of the "eastern bastions"), one can climb the walls there and take pictures of the walls and the surroundings. Note that the article in the Turkish Wikipedia about the "Sinop Kalesi" uses that term for the whole set of walls, stretching for some 2000 meters. The pictures in this Eastern Bastion category concern a part of the whole set of walls.
