English: The Douglas R5D was the U.S. Navy (and with it U.S. Marine Corps/U.S. Coast Guard) designation for the Douglas C-54 until 1962 when, with the introduction of the Tri-Service aircraft designation system on 18 September 1962, surviving R5Ds were redesignated C-54.
