English: The de Vere family, likely originating in Ver-sur-Mer (Basse-Normandie, France), were an English aristocratic family for many centuries headed by the Earl of Oxford, a title that has been dormant since 1703. Modern resonances (junior branches) are interests in the luxury De Vere Hotels group and one major title: the Duke of St Albans.
