Daswanth, also known as Dasavanta, Dasavant, and Dasvant, an Indian miniaturist, active ca. 1560, died 1584. Considered one of the most innovative Mughal artists among those who worked in the imperial atelier, "for his audacious intermingling of naturalistic and decorative forms" (The New York Times, November 10, 2002).
