Dahl Motors was the second Ford dealership franchise in Allentown. It operated from 1938 to 1959, primarily at the former Lawfer Automobile Company at 1211-1213 Hamilton Street. Dahl motors closed in 1959 when the corporate owners decided to concentrate their business in the Midwestern United States.

The business in Allentown began as the Murray Auto Corporation, being formed on April 18th, 1934 at 206-212 East Hamilton Street. It initially was the second Ford dealership in Allentown, being the only one east of the Lehigh River. Lawfer selling Fords in the near-west end of Allentown. Within a year, Lawfer lost it's ford franchise, making Murrary Ford the only dealer in Allentown and the surrounding area.

In November 1938, the Ford franchise in Allentown was transferred to the new Dahl Motors which purchased the Murray Auto Corporation facilities. Murrary;s used car inventory was purchased by Ray Wolfangle. Wolfangle moved the cars in Murrary's lot to his own dealership at Seventeenth and Hamilton and Murray's was liquidated.

Dahl operated from the East Hamilton location for several years. in 1943, he purchased the old Lawfer Ford building at Twelfth and Hamilton from Alden MacClellan when MacClellan moved to a new building at Seventh and Tilghman Streets. After World War II ended, Dahl opened a second location in 1949 at Eighteenth and Tilghman for a ford Truck sales and service center. The Dahl dealership sold Fords, Lincolns and Mercury cars from the Lawfer building successfully until 1959, when the decision was made to liquidate the business in Allentown.
