English: Cumberland Motor Services was a bus company first registered in June, 1921 in Whitehaven (Cumbria) although its origins started in 1912 as The Whitehaven Motor Service Company. It became part of the National Bus Company UK in 1948 then known as The British Transport Commission. It was bought in 1987 and with Ribble Motor Services in 1988 was formed what is now Stagecoach North West.
