English: Dry string technique or dry line technique: ancient ceramic technique introduced by the Moors to the Iberian Peninsule consisting in applying a thin waxed string on the patternlines drawn on the teracotta tile or object, so that the applied liquid color glazes are hardened seperately (without mixing). The strings burn away during the firingprocess, leaving a thin black line which is, beside a raised texture the caracteristic property of dry string manufactured works.
