English: The “Constantinople in Budapest”, the “Little Constantinople in Budapest” or the Lágymányosi comfort district was a huge entertainment complex of short life in the area next to today's Lágymányosi bridge. Its name derives from the fact that its buildings, designed to imitate the real capital of Constantinople (today: Istanbul) in Turkey and the Turkish style, were a miniature part of Eastern culture. After a few months of existence, the operator went bankrupt. The buildings were later demolished. (Some say it was the largest comfort quarter in contemporary Europe.) — The buildings were designed by architects Lipót Kellner and Kálmán Gerster, the construction was done by the entrepreneurs of Sándor Hauszmann, and the painting of the buildings was entrusted to the graphic artist and team of Károly Gerster.
