English: There are eleven colleges at the University of York, principally for accommodation and social reasons rather than for academic teaching.

The original five colleges were: Derwent College, Langwith College, Vanbrugh College, Goodricke College, Alcuin College and Wentworth College. James College and Halifax College were added later.

Following university expansion in the 2000s, Goodricke College and Langwith College relocated onto the Heslington East campus where two further colleges were also constructed: Constantine College and Anne Lister College. Another, David Kato College, is under construction.
