Arms of the lordship of w:Heidenheim an der Brenz: Or, a heathen's head bearded proper dressed and capped gules with collar and flap azure and buttons or. Canting arms, German Heidenheim means "the heathen's home". As seen on a 15th century seal of the city
In 1693 the Duke of Württemberg acquired the lordship of Heidenheim and incorporated the arms as an additional quartering. Possibly intended as a Turk wearing a w:Phrygian cap, as depicted in Chorographia Württemberg (1591)
