w:Edmund Tudor, 1st Earl of Richmond (1430-1456), was the eldest son of Sir Owen Tudor of North Wales and Queen Catherine of Valois, the widow of King Henry V of England. He was thus a uterine half-brother to King Henry VI, who granted him a new augmented coat of arms in place of his paternal arms of Tudor. He was the father of King Henry VII of England (first monarch of the Tudor dynasty).
