Coat of arms of Alexander Cambridge, 1st Earl of Athlone (1874-1957), third (but second surviving) son of Prince Francis, Duke of Teck (a title within the w:Kingdom of Württemberg) by his wife Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge, daughter of Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850), the youngest surviving son of King George III of the United Kingdom. Quarterly of 4 with a crescent sable overall for difference (for a second son):
- 1&4: Royal arms of Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850), being arms of his father King George III with label for difference;
- 2&3: Arms of Prince Francis, Duke of Teck: Duchy of Württemberg impaling Duchy of Swabia (lesser arms of the Kingdom of Württemberg) (but lions with dexter forelegs gules) overall an inescutcheon of the Duchy of Teck (Paly-bendy sable and or). His paternal arms have ceded their conventional place of honour in the 1st and 4th quarters to his maternal arms
