Category:Cnoc nam Muc-chlach
Cnoc nam Muc-chlach is a 139 metres (456 ft) coastal hill of the central west coast of Islay immediately to the south of Machir Bay and to the north of Kilchiaran Bay. From below it appears to be three hills because the northwest face is serrated into three crags: Creag a' Chaorainn to the north (not marked on Geograph), Creag Goirtean na Feannaige to the southwest, and Creag Bealach na Caillich to the southwest of that. Below it a pass, Bealach na Caillich, leads between the hill and the coast, named "old woman pass" because of Granny Rock, a part of the crag with the apparent face of an old woman. On the first two crags are the remnants of RAF Kilchiaran radar stations, one tall non-functional mast on each, but on the last is a functional BT microwave transmission station and tower.
