English: Rev. Claude L. Pickens, Jr. (1900-1985) and his wife, Elizabeth Zwemer Pickens were American Episcopal missionaries working with the China Inland Mission. They had an interest in Hui (Han Chinese Muslims). In 1933 and in 1936, Pickens and other missionaries undertook surveys of Hui, Tibetan and others groups in Western China. A total of 1,079 photographs are online and held in in the Harvard-Yenching Library.
