English: The church was built in 1868, designed by Pugin and Ashlin. It is constructed from cut limestone. Half of the £3000 cost was donated by the Grace family, of Gracefield, whose mausoleum is in the adjoining graveyard. The church was refurbished and re-roofed in 1965, which was overseen by the architect Michael Crowe. The Sanctuary was re-ordered along with other internal works in 1992. See John McEvoy, John Duffy: The Churches of Kildare & Leighlin 2000 A.D., ISBN 2-7468-0293-7, p. 16.
