Countries of Asia: People's Republic of China
Before 1950, the Children's Day in China was on April 4th. Although Hong Kong was a British colony then, the Hong Kong Chinese observed the Chinese Children's Day on April 4th, which date remains unchanged until now. Yet, since 1950, the Communist Party led Chinese Government changed the date of Children's Day to June 1st, which made the date of Children's Day differ from that in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
