Chester Piersol Barnett (14 January 1887 - 16 October 1948). He was born on January 14, 1887 in Danville, Indiana to Colonel John Thomas Barnett and Emma Charlotte Piersol. Military History: Second Lieutenant, 15th Cavalry on June 15, 1910. At Fort Myer, Virginia, September 16, 1910 to September 23, 1913; at Fort Riley, Kansas, student officer at Mounted Service School, October 4, 1913 to November 4, 1913; on leave of absence to December 3, 1913; at Fort Bliss, Texas, December 6, 1913, to January 12, 1914; at Sierra Blanca, Texas, to March 26, 1914; on patrol duty at various stations on Mexican border, to October 5, 1915; at Hawaii, October 5, 1915, to March 23, 1916; on leave of absence to May. Resigned, May 1, 1916. With Davis Colliery Company, Elkins, West Virginia, until he was appointed Major, National Guard of Indiana, August 1, 1916 at Llano Grande, Texas, to April 1, 1917. Resigned, April 1, 1917. Appointed Major, Adjutant General, United States Reserves, July 6, 1917. At Governor's Island, New York, to November 15, 1917, when he was ordered to France; at Camp Vaidahon, France, Adjutant, 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, to March 4, 1918; at General Headquarters, Chaumont, France, in Adjutant General's Department, to November 11, 1918, when he returned to United States; at Governor's Island, New York, Department Intelligence Officer, to March 4, 1919. Resigned, March 4, 1919. Entered Banking Department of W. R. Grace & Co., New York. Address: 570 Park Avenue, New York City. Son of Colonel J. T. Barnett, class of 1878. He died in 1948.
