In the early 16 th century, the family Chantapinot founded the chapel dedicated to Santa Barbara but was named Chapel of the Conception. In 1701 the Chapel of the Conception and Saint Reine was administered by the officers of the “Présidial” of the city. The chapel was also dedicated to St. Bartholomew before to become Chapelle Saint Claude, also known as the Butcher's chapel. The chapel has a beautiful wrought iron gate of the sixteenth century, and fragments of stained glass from the early 16^th century representing the work of butchers⁽¹⁾. The altar and the altarpiece made of carved oak are of the 17th century⁽²⁾. The painting is partially fade but some of the characters of a family scene may be identified, as: The child Jesus sitting, the Virgin Mother and St. Joseph, St. Anne and St. Joachim. At the top of the altarpiece is a carved group, the Education of the Virgin⁽³⁾, and two angels carrying a cornucopia for receiving a candle. 1:Vitrail des Bouchers.
